Music Monday: “Way Maker” by Passion (featuring Kristian Stanfill, Kari Jobi & others)
By: Debbie Waltz
This weekend was a big one for my family and me- as we watched my niece graduate from high school and move on to the next stage of her life. In less than 2 months, she will head to North Carolina in pursuit of a degree in Physical Therapy while continuing her passion for swimming as part of her scholarship. Thankfully, we have more time to make unforgettable memories with our upcoming cruise to Ireland, Scotland, etc.. I’m amazed at the growth I’ve seen so far; I’m so proud of her for being willing to give a speech in front of her friends and family. I wouldn’t have been able to do it at that age.
It’s so easy to see God moving in our midst during such an amazing time. My once shy niece has grown into such a confident young woman. I can see how much she’s changed, always willing to try new things and lend a helping hand when needed. But as Pastor Mike Bradley reminded us during the service, God is still working and creating in our midst. He hadn’t stopped.
Even though it doesn’t always seem like it, God is always working on our behalf.
This is the main idea of Ann Voskamp’s “Way Maker.” Though His Ways are drastically different from ours, God always wants what’s best for us. He wants us to ultimately turn back to him in all areas of life-especially in difficulty. Because if we earnestly seek him, our relationship with God takes priority and our problems won’t seem as big as they are. We began to see our value in Christ and trust His Power to move on our behalf. Yes, He loves us that much!
