Music Monday: “Praise God For That ” by Jordan Feliz
by Debbie Waltz
The Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone so quickly, and the Christmas season is already upon us. I trust you could savor some precious moments with friends and family amidst the flurry of Thanksgiving cooking and preparations. So things might not have gone perfectly according to plan. As the timer ticked away, each agonizing second seemed to stretch into an eternity, just like having to wait two extra hours for the turkey to cook. But at least we were together, which made the wait a little easier to bear.
Although the holidays are special, the quiet moments remind us that life is fleeting and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Every second is a gift, so let’s make the most of each one and appreciate all that we have. After all, Luke 12:7 reminds us, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (NIV).
On the flip-side, I recognize that this is a time of great sadness for those who have lost loved ones. While this may be a difficult time, I hope we can all find solace in the truth that this is not the end for those who believe in Jesus. John 5:24-25 says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.”
Jordan Feliz’s song “Praise God for that” reminds us that it’s the little things in this life that matter the most. While the glitter of presents may lose its attraction, it’s the people and life’s simple moments that truly bring us joy and fulfillment. The song’s uplifting melody and heartfelt lyrics serve as a powerful reminder to appreciate the small blessings that often go unnoticed. It encourages us to cherish the laughter shared with loved ones, the beauty of nature, and the warmth of a kind gesture. In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, “The Little Things” encourages us to slow down, embrace the present moment, and find happiness in the everyday experiences that make life truly meaningful.
