Welcome Back, Readers~
My, how the summer has flown by. It seems like just yesterday my niece returned home for the summer and in a little less than a week, she will head back to college. Granted, this summer didn’t turn out anything like planned; it all started with my previous writing coach having personal issues that stopped me from finishing and completing my book manuscript, then there was my personal assistant’s decision to move on, hoping to further her academic pursuits. As you can probably tell by my previous posts, this left me disappointed and scrambling to put out feelers for potential caregivers. This involves posting applications to potential job sites, interviewing potential applicants, etc.
The process is slow going as we have yet to find someone who will work on our schedule and meet our criteria. I am happy to report things are moving forward in the writing process as I’ve begun on a new journey. This journey brings me hope I may complete the manuscript Jesus has commissioned me to write. (Philippians 1:6-7). Throughout the months, I’ve had my doubts about the lack of motivation and communication with my previous writing coach. I truly understand that life happens and the idea that family comes first. Believe me, I get it. But what am I supposed to do?
With that in mind, I’d like to bring up this idea of questioning. Questioning is only natural, it’s what makes us human. It’s how we deal with our questions that are important. Do we allow our questions to bring us closer to God or do we seek our own answers and stray as a result? The answer seems pretty obvious, but it’s even harder to live it out. Yes, God revealed to us the mysteries of faith according to his will. Ephesians 1:4- 9 reminds us: “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the richness of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ…”
But that doesn’t mean we understand everything. We must remember our intellect is limited. But God’s is not. Isaiah puts it like this: “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
I like to feel in control having CP, but the reality is I do not. I have to rely on other people for every aspect of my care. That’s why the verse “to believe there’s nothing to fear, and that You alone are high above it all. For you my God our greater still”
What I love about The Worship initiative song, “Greatness of our God” is that the song gives voice to our doubts as humans, but also acknowledges God’s ability to look beyond them. He acknowledges them and accepts us as we are -flawed and all..
