Faithful Friday: A Quick Note from The Author

Faithful Friday: A Quick Note from The Author

For those of you wondering, I haven’t forgotten about the “Faithful Friday” theme at the end of the week. The fact is, I have a few things in the works behind the scenes regarding interviews that haven’t exactly fit into everybody’s schedule. I also have a few blog ideas that feature Christian movies in theaters over the last few months- one of them being The Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot. I hesitated to feature that one because it delves into the challenging themes of adoption and the importance of safeguarding children in the foster care system.

Though the movie is inspirational, it does not shy away from some kids’ harsh realities. Even in foster care, things are not always better. All hope is not lost, though. Plenty of people within the system care about the children more than the financial support they provide (hint: it’s not that much either.)

The town of Possum Trot, Kentucky, is one such community

In Short, one family’s adoption journey inspired a whole city to follow in their footsteps and foster much-needed children within the county- emptying the foster system in the county for a time.

I could write a separate blog post about this movie if you want me to. Please email me or comment on the post below.

Growing up, I always felt adoption seemed like a plausible option when it came to adding to my family. Now that I’m getting older, it is the only option since I’m still unmarried. So many kids out there need to be loved and given a good home.

On another note, the writing is going well. While meeting with Linda every other week, I continue to finish the final chapter, and my mom is editing the other chapters based on all her comments.
