Music Monday: “The Lord Almighty Reigns” by Keith & Kristyn Getty

Music Monday: “The Lord Almighty Reigns” by Keith & Kristyn Getty

by: Debbie Waltz

Over the last two weeks, I haven’t come up with any new songs for Music Monday and how they reflect my previous week. When I first came up with the category, I figured with all the new music being released, there would be no lack of new songs to choose from. I reasoned that allowing audiences to understand my musical preferences, both the genres I enjoy and those I don’t, would provide them with a more personal and intimate understanding of who I am as an individual. Simultaneously, this allows readers the chance to explore and augment their own musical holdings, potentially discovering new artists or genres. Having These three categories for over a year, I realize how difficult it is to keep up with the three blogs a week as much as I have lately.

I have also submitted a potential marketing plan should my book be acquired at any time this year; I look forward to hearing any suggestions from my writing coach before attending another writing conference in March. This one will be different because I will be attending in person for the first time since the pandemic. I haven’t been to the one in South Carolina before, and it will allow me to see and talk to Linda in person. Thankfully, she is not only a friendly face I will see there as other writing friends from an online writing group will also be in attendance.

Meanwhile, I have just started attending my Church’s intensive study on Revelation. It’s a tough book, I know, but I figured it was another way for me to get involved in the church and get accountability for reading the Bible. I’ve had my share of difficulties with this over the last few months- feeling the need to start reading the devotional and sometimes never finishing it. I’ll admit it: I’m an emotional person. I like to feel an emotional connection to a story before I finish it. The same goes for the church.

I know what you are thinking. “But Debbie, faith is not based on feelings.”

You’re absolutely right. Feelings can deceive you and lead you astray.

That’s why I’m trying to lean more into the Bible and learn more about what to expect in the future.
