Music Monday: “No Doubt about It” by We the Kingdom
by: Debbie Waltz
There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world.
Can I pay off my credit card bill this month?
With a small readership, will I still be able to secure a publisher for my book?
With my parents struggling to help, will I be able to find a caregiver for some days and nights?
But here’s the good news. There’s always hope. There is hope for both of us. Our hope as Christians rests in Jesus Christ’s completed work. That’s all. It doesn’t change because He can’t. The Bible says he remains the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8). In that one single act, He adopted us as His children. Though we still live in this sinful world, we recognize we are at work in progress and earth isn’t our home. He’s using life difficulties to shape us in his image. 2 Corinthians 3: 18 reminds us, “And we all, who with unveiled faces are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (NIV)
Though these circumstances are difficult, they are crucial to building our character. James 1:2-4 says: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work in you so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (NIV). Roman 5 also confirms this idea. It says, “Not only so, but we also glory in our suffering because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (NIV)
We The Kingdom’s “No Doubt About It” delicately touches on the knowledge of our imperfections and how God’s grace helps us towards perfection. It’s not a quick fix; it’s an ongoing process. It’s crucial to remember that until Christ returns, we’ll always have areas in our lives that need growth and healing, preventing us from experiencing complete wholeness. But the sanctification process has already begun.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need that reminder. But that’s the truth. We should always remember, as Christians, that God continually works in the background for us.
If you’re not, God is reaching out to you. He loves you. He wants to be there for you. (If you’re interested in learning more, comment below. I would be happy to talk to you more about it)
