Welcome Back, Readers~

Let me open this post with a question. When did you learn the truth about Santa?

If you’re anything like me, my parents had done all they could to keep the spirit of Santa “alive” for as long as possible- from constructing dollhouses late on Christmas Eve to be sure it would be done in the morning, Even now, I receive gifts under the guise of Santa, knowing full well exactly where they come from. (Sorry if I burst any bubbles of kids who stumble across this post and have questions. Please that was not my intention!)

The fact is, believing in anything is getting harder and harder these days. The radio reports virtually everything with a bit of negativity. They constantly remind us of how broken and divided our nation has become. As Christians, though, we know the truth- there is hope in Jesus Christ.

By fully surrendering our hearts, we acknowledge we can’t do this on our own, but need Christ’s help and leadership. This takes a lot of faith in handing over the reins to God, believing He has our best interest at heart.  Hebrews 11:1-2 reminds us, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.”

As a result, we no longer are slaves to our own sin. Though we are still prone to temptation, we know God’s GRACE covers us. This is a gift, not something we can earn. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”

THAT IS THE TRUE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS! By trusting in Jesus and his work at Calvary, we can rest knowing that we are new creations, free from judgment when we meet Jesus In Heaven. For Romans 8:1-3 says, Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
